Associate of Arts Transfer Degrees

Hospitality & Tourism Management Planned for Fall 2009! In western Massachusetts, "Accommodations" are characterized as one of the highest job-growth industries for the next half-decade; the largest number of private-sector jobs are now provided by full-service restaurants; and jobs in these industries are expected to grow at 8% annually. This program includes an introduction to hospitality, nutrition, marketing, economics and accounting, and provides transfer opportunities into the Hospitality Management concentration at the IIsenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Management With concentrations in General Management or Entrepreneurship, this program stresses a solid foundation in business management fields. It prepares students for work in entry-level management positions in business, not-for-profit, and public organizations. Download required course list »

Certificate Programs

These provide specialized education in specific career fields, without the general education coursework required for a degree. A student attending full-time beginning in the Fall semester will usually be able to complete these certificates in one year. The courses in these programs are designed to "fold into" an Associate’s Degree if the student decides to continue studies.

Entrepreneurship Provides the skills needed for a start-up business venture, or to invigorate an existing small business. It includes hands-on experiences in the chosen business field, and maximum flexibility to emphasize areas of personal need and interest. Download required course list »
Office Assistant Provides the student with basic office skills in order to enter the office workplace in such positions as entry-level secretary or clerk-typist. Download required course list »
Real Estate Designed for students desiring to enter the real estate field as a licensed salesperson. Students are prepared to take the Massachusetts state licensing exam after the first semester. Web Development and Design Planned for Fall 2009! Online retail sales have doubled in just the last five years, and 60% of all small businesses have an online presence. Many businesses, however, fail to fully utilize the power of the web to attract customers and manage information. This certificate program combines courses in art, marketing, e-commerce, and computer information systems to equip the student for the technical and design skills needed to develop, implement, and maintain a functional website for business or not-for-profit institutions. It is particularly appropriate for students interested in entry-level employment as a web developer, web designer, or as a proprietor of a contract web development service, and perfect for students looking to transform existing websites into powerful tools of retail trade.
