Endowment. The Foundation committed to grow the endowment from $1.5 million to $5 million by 2003, and $10 million by 2005 to secure GCC's future as well as serve as a buffer against the unpredictability of state support for GCC and higher education.
Professional development. Foundation funds ensure the continuing excellence of a faculty and staff who are 100% dedicated to teaching and to meeting students' needs.
The Library. The GCC Library has turned to the GCC Foundation for the funds it requires to sustain the high level of library services necessary for academic excellence. Visit the Library.
Women in Transition Program. There aren't many safety nets in our society, but the WIT program at GCC keeps women in school with a variety of resources, services and support. Learn more about the program.
The President's Fund. Support from the Foundation allows the president to restore programs and services that become victims of state budget cuts.
"The GCC Foundation is probably the most important reason our community college is such a great one. We not only give funds to the College, we spread the good word about it."
- Jean Cummings, honorary member of the GCC Foundation Board of Directors
About the GCC Foundation
Since 1968, the Greenfield Community College Foundation has invested in the dreams of students who work, students who cannot afford tuition, students who cannot travel to other educational institutions—people for whom higher education is otherwise beyond the borders of their personal geographies.
We are committed to supporting the mission of Greenfield Community College—its students, faculty, staff, and alumni—by building relationships and raising funds throughout a service area that encompasses Franklin and Hampshire Counties in Western Massachusetts, and the counties of Southern Vermont and New Hampshire and beyond.
Vision statement
The Greenfield Community College Foundation gathers and manages the resources required to ensure that Greenfield Community College is the nation's finest small college; a conduit for regional, national, and international philanthropic investment; and an instrument for helping the College to achieve its vision for the future.
Initiatives of particular interest to the Foundation include:
- Access and opportunity for every student
- Mutually beneficial strategic partnerships and collaborations
- Programs to identify and support future leaders
- Recognition of diversity and the evolving needs of our community
