Course reserves
Instructors often put materials (books, videos, CDs, articles) on reserve in the library for use by students in a particular class so that the materials will always be available to the students. These materials can be borrowed, but usually for a short period of time to ensure ready access to the entire class. In general, these materials must be used in the library, unless the instructor has made an exception to this policy.
For students
Reserve materials are located behind the circulation desk and must be checked out with your library card in order to be used. They are organized by the course number rather than by the instructor's name. The online catalog also offers a Course Reserves search by either the course number or the instructor's name.
By instructor's name
If you search by instructor's name, use the following format: last name, first name.
By course number
If you search by course number, you must put GCC in front of the course name. Example: GCC ENG 116
For faculty
Information for faculty about how to place items on reserve can be
