Math Assistance Program

The centerpiece of the Math Assistance Program is one-on-one peer tutoring for courses offered by the Division of Math, Science, Information Technology, and Business. We offer approximately one hundred hours of one-on-one peer tutoring appointments for these subjects. The Learning Center is open Monday through Thursday 8am to 7pm, Friday 8am to 4pm, and Saturday 10 am to 4pm. Call 775-1330 or stop by (4th Floor North beside the library) to make an appointment.

Math Studio
The Math Studio,
located in East 124A, strives to be a community of math learners where students
are encouraged to work with other students on their course work. It is open
throughout the day, and staffed by members of the math faculty for most of the weekday hours and for a few evening hours. During
these times any GCC math student may drop in for assistance. A bookmark that
lists these hours and the person staffing is available in the Math Studio or
from any member of the math faculty.
Math Videotapes
Math videotapes are available for MAT 090, 105, 106, 107 and 108. The videotapes
for MAT 090, 105, 106 and 107 are keyed to our current texts. These math videotapes
may be borrowed or viewed in the Learning Center. To borrow a videotape or
to view one, simply come up to the Learning Center.
Graphing Calculator Rental Program
We offer rentals to GCC students who are enrolled in courses that require graphing
calculators. These rentals are provided to meet the needs of students who may
not need the graphing calculator beyond a single term. We are currently renting TI-83 Plus graphing calculators for a fee of $35.00 for the fall or spring term, and $17.50 for summer session I or summer session II. Rental payments can be applied to the future purchase of a graphing calculator
from the GCC Bookstore.
