PVI Resources
Indian Images Display

The Indian
Images exhibit is a traveling photographic exhibit that explores perceptions
and the portrayal of Native Americans, by both themselves and others, both
past and present. Many of the images in the exhibit are scenes in the Pioneer
Valley. The exhibit was designed to raise awareness of Native American culture
and commonly held beliefs about American Indians. It is available for use by
schools and organization and can be used as a teaching tool and integrated
into study units. The accompanying curriculum guide for use by teachers provides
topics for discussion, and the final display panel invites viewer input by
inviting questions and comments. The exhibit consists of two sets of freestanding
panels and requires an area of approximately 10 x 15 feet for set up.
Contact the Pioneer Valley Institute for more information or to schedule to
reserve the exhibit at (413) 775-1254.
