Student Peer Advising Initiative

The Academic Advising Center is using a new tool to help students get the most from their advising sessions. Through the new Peer Advising Program, students, who have already gone through the advising process, are hired and trained to help the Advising Center staff. Peer Advisors lead student majors-to-careers-to-transfer exploration groups each semester. If you are interested in becoming a Peer Advisor, contact the coordinators of this program: Kathleen Maisto or Julie Shaw

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Initiative - Opening Doors

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is working to expand opportunity for high-achieving, lower-income community college students to attend the nation’s most selective colleges and universities through this imitative. To accomplish this, the foundation awarded grants totaling $6.78 million over four years to eight highly selective four-year institutions that are expected to enroll 1,100 new transfer students from more than 60 partnering community colleges. Greenfield Community College partners with Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts.
