About Fire Science
The Fire Science Technology Associate of Science degree at Greenfield Community College is designed for both fire fighters looking for career enhancement and advancement and for people considering the fire service as a new career. This program provides the student with an academic background, helpful to anyone in the fire service, which goes beyond what is learned in training programs like those in the Massachusetts Fire Academy.

- Transfer opportunities to B.S. Degrees in Fire Administration at other colleges
Collaboration
Since the Fall of 2000, the Fire Science programs at Greenfield, Berkshire, and Springfield Technical Community Colleges have been coordinated so that students who take courses at one institution can easily transfer them to another. Furthermore, courses offered at one institution are often broadcast, using interactive video or other distance learning technologies, to another institution – thereby widening the offerings available to the students.
